What You'll Learn
Our 3-hour class covers the essential stitches from scratch:
- Continental stitch — the foundational stitch every needle pointer starts with
- Basketweave stitch — the sturdier diagonal stitch used for filling larger background areas
- Tent stitch — building on continental and basketweave for a well-rounded stitching foundation
By the end of class, you'll have hands-on practice with all three and the confidence to start (and finish) your own canvas at home.

- Stretcher bars
Just show up ready to stitch — no supplies to bring or buy ahead of time.

- Group size: Capped at 10 students, so everyone gets personal attention
- Skill level: All welcome — true beginners are especially encouraged
- Instructor: Kristen, who's been needlepointing for 30 years and has taught stitchers of every skill level
Is This Class Right for Me?
If you've never picked up a needle and canvas before, this class is built for you. We start from the very beginning — how to set up your canvas, thread your needle, and work your first stitches — so there's no such thing as "too new" to join.
Common Questions
Do I need any experience to take this class? No. The class covers continental, basketweave, and tent stitch from scratch, and true beginners are especially encouraged.
What should I bring? Nothing — canvas, thread, needles, and stretcher bars are all provided.
How many people are in each class? Classes are capped at 10 students for a mix of personal attention and group energy.
Will I finish a full canvas during class? Class time is focused on learning the core stitches with hands-on practice. Many students continue working on their canvas at home afterward using what they've learned.
